hey guys i think there will be enough interest i'll write up a note to invite hosts today aswell as emailing them, i thought we were going to go for 6pm but i notice liz wrote 5-5.45pm. in terms of getting everyone there in time after work etc, maybe we make it 5.15pm?what do you think about what heather said about paying the hosts to be there, if they have the budget i think they should. Kate's back today (visitor services co-ordinator) so I'll have a chat to her aswell.
Sorry i forgot to check the height of the lift yesterday, i'll post another comment tonight.
This is what i said in response to heather...
Hi Heather,
Thanks very much! I think maybe 5.15ish would be better than 6pm as a
starting time but we will check with Kate. An hour would be plenty of
time for us to spend with the hosts. We thought hosts might come along
out of their own interest (perhaps also lured by our refreshments)
rather than for money but if you have enough of a budget to pay them
to attend, then by all means please do. If not all can attend that's
quite alright we just hoped that by speaking to those who were
interested in being involved early on we could slowly drip feed them
with information and encourage them to spread information with other
hosts amongst themselves and in their own time.
So, wonderful! Andrea will put a call out to see which of the hosts
are interested in coming along next tuesday (she thinks there will be
enough interest to make it productive) and the rest can be caught
later on. Andrea will also talk with Kate when she's at work this
afternoon.
Many thanks
TAC
All sounds great....planning orange food. I don't understand Beer and skittles?
sounds great to me, i think the hosts attending should be paid if poss, and we could still do food. (paying them is probably a employment contract requirement for city gallery)
good on you andie for facilitating this so proactivly!
Great action. Beer and skittles - kind of like the metaphorical peanuts but more festive

hey guys i made a wee poster for the hosts inviting them meet us on tuesday, i've also scribbled it in the gallery notebooks and FOH diary, i've asked them to RSVP to me aswell just so we can get a feel for numbers. I'm not sure whether or not they'll be paid, i talked with kate about this (she's keen to come along too) and she said we probably could but i havent advertised this to the hosts as i'm not 100%sure. I've written on the poster etc 5.15 as there's less waiting around that way, also Kate and I can lock up after so that Polly the security guard can catch her bus home on time-unless Polly wants to join us too! Hosts I've talked with today sound very keen and excited so far, yay!
Post Meeting Report
great meeting, I think we sounded pretty coherent from an inside point of view. We need to get back to Heather with a list of the hosts who attended so she can decide on whether the city gallery can compensate them for their time. I nominate me for that task!
Thanks for organising that Andie!
