lecturer interested in our empty chairs

Hello All,
yesterday I was asked for and gave a senior lecturer at Vic this image of our work from 'Every Now and Then' at Enjoy.
Another collaborator metioned that this fact could be of interest to the rest of TAC so here is our correspondence about the inclusion of our documentation in her Sydney Lecture.
I am not sure what angle she plans to take discussing our work, however I thought even analysis of the problematics of this installation is useful and fitting for our project.
Since some curators have complained when TAC hasd posted their correspondence on this blog, all personal references will be removed....

.....1st Email.....

Dear (Enjoy Gallery Employee),
When you talked to my class you showed an image of the chair arrangement set up by the Assoc of Collaboration as part of Mel Oliver's show at Enjoy.

I wonder if you could send me a copy of this, good enough quality to show in a powerpoint?

I'm talking as part of a panel discussion at Artspace in Sydney which is part of a project called Aftermath which is canvassing the relationship of performance and installation.
Many thanks
(Lecturer)

.....2nd Email.....

Hello (Enjoy Gallery Employee),

I wonder if you could let Paula know which image I mean and get her to send it to me?
Thanks
(Lecturer)

.....3rd Email.....( my reply)

hi (Lecturer),
I have sourced an image of TAC's residual post-meeting chair set up, from towards the end of the 'Every Now and Then' show (after a few TAC meetings). Please confirm that this is what you seek, it should be sized appropriatly for powerpoint.
See attached
best wishes, Paula

would we be able to ask for a transcript of the lecture do you think?

Paula Booker said...

maybe? or her notes on TAC component?

i would have an interest in the whole thing, but if it is easier for the lecturer to provide the TAC component then that would be ok too. i'm interested to see what she has to say about our activities.

me too, can we find out where in sydney the lecture is being given?

Transcript would be great.

And this is a really great photo. If we ever get round to making a booklet it could be a good cover. Or illustration......

so like:
dear unknown mystery lecturer,
we at tac are interested in finding out more about your talk (performance/documentation? insert title here), unfortunately none of our diaspora is able to make it to Sydney to audience it first-hand. Is it possible that there will be some form of documentation of the documentation talk? or pre-talk notation?
we would very much appreciate anything that is handy,
xtac

hi All,
of course it would be interesting to hear what XXXX might say about our work.
but to be honest i don't think we should ask for a transcript or anything - here's why.
XXXX is a member of the wellington art community, and as such, part of an art audience. As such she is entitled to hold conversations, both private and public about the work that she sees in galleries.
as artists, and creators of cultural products
we do not have any control/say/authorship over the conversations that disseminate from our exhibitions. (because, by their nature, they are public events)
even tho i provided XXXX with an images, we still don't have any rights, because anyone can use that image. if they did an image search on google for TAC it would probable turn up.
an example of this kind of use would be images from our own blog currently being used on art-bash to illustrate a review of Douglas Bagnalls's show, that totally criticizes our prospect project.

of course critique and feedback is interesting. cool if we could see the lecture.... but really, lets move on, forwards, to our next project. that excites me.
