Hi all,
So just another practical thing to think about. CAMRU is currently housed in our church / studio space. We have positioned her in a corner so she is taking up the minimum of space.......but it still is rather a lot of space. I am conscious that the corner is in Tyree's workspace and she is making lots more work in there at the moment.
I guess we need to consider a more long term solution ie storage or dismantlement or gift or sale or?! I am loathe to dismantle it after all the work, but I also can't store it indefinately. Perhaps we could consider some other uses for it?
One thing I had wondered was if it could be used as something to do with the Fringe Festival? Very vague ideas at the moment, but I just know that is a really public and outdoor event where it reaches lots of non art audiences................
Could it be somehow used to gather information or be a public beacon for finding out about people's collaborative thoughts / experiences? Could it be the locus for launching a booklet?!

These are some good thoughts - when is fringe festival? Also I like your ideas for the two-fold show -that is to garner new feedback about collaboration from audience - perhaps if we made a concerted effort and cleaned up our blog processes we could try and make it accessable for discussion with two fold audience? I have been researching some blog thread tips and will post soon. Thanks for being the caretaker of the trolley xxx
is fringe usually in feb? It would be good for the trolley to be out there socialising, otherwise it could be a lonely life being a trolley. Thanks Sian for looking after it for so long and thanks also to Tyree for putting up with it! Whatever happened to the Chartwell Trust's interest in TAC? was that more of a non-tangible interest- i.e. did they want to include some text and images from us on their website? It'd be cool if we could gift our trolley to some kind of cultural institution, but only on the condition that they make good use of it!

maybe the dowse would be interested in it? or thistle hall could put it to good use?
thanks heaps for looking after the trolley for all this time sian. i like the idea of the trolley continuing its good work garnering public opinion and response. also, if the trolley was part of the fringe festival it would be a nice way of diversifying its context, by putting it outside an artworld context. you did say however, that when the trolley went outside it was a bit lost and people didn't really know how to respond to it?
perhaps the best way would be to take the trolley to specific, well attended openings at the fringe festival and make it available for people to post comments or whatever after the shows?
this would logistically be very tough though (those words looks the same), moving it around from place to place etc
The Chartwell were interested in TAC contributing to the website, which I think we should definately still do.
I would really like to see CAMRU being used again, for its original purpose, in another art context (a more intimate one) to see if we can encourage more sustained and involved audience use.
Perhaps after we have assessed the prospect project we could figure out if we want to put anymore energy into developing it further.
I think as far as donating CAMRU to an institution goes, its only a trolley without TAC facilitating its use and so not useful for its intended purpose - we could supply some kind of operating maunal but I wonder if it would maintain the autonomy needed for criticsm if it was operated 'in house'.
All good thought. After suggesting the Fringe I am now thinking boy I just really can't take on any more projects! I have had somewhat of a burn out at work and so am cutting down on everything I can. I am aware that I took on a lot this year (Prospect, two solo shows, group shows, two comissions.....) and need to be wary of what I commit to in between now and starting Masters at Massey end of Feb.
I love the idea of it being used again too and I think yes it could be well used in connection with well attended events, but we need to probably reasses what we do with teh material we gather adn what use we can put it to. I think that would reenergise our commitment and engagement with it. I can't help feeling like we collected and awful lot of information from Prospect and haven't really worked out what to do with all of that. And if it doesn't go into a format or use it feels hard for me to get motivated about collecting more!
Sorry don't mean to sound like such a downer!
